Question 1

Can I choose my own address name?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Type a name in the box in the address card — 3 to 30 characters, letters, numbers, dots, dashes or underscores — and tap Create. Your old address stays under My addresses and you can switch back to it.

Question 2

My code hasn't arrived. Why?

Accepted Answer

Most codes arrive within seconds. Some websites refuse temporary addresses, some senders are slow with a first message, and codes go to the exact address you gave the site — check which address is in use at the top of the page.

Question 3

I deleted my address. Can I get it — or its emails — back?

Accepted Answer

No. Deleting is final and happens right away: the address and every email in it are gone and nobody can bring them back. Never use a UseTemp address for an account you might need to get back into later.

Question 4

Can I send email from my temporary address?

Accepted Answer

No — you can only receive email here. Sending is off on purpose: it keeps things simple and stops this service being used for spam.

Question 5

Is UseTemp really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Making addresses and receiving mail is free. There is no account and nothing to pay.

Question 6

How long do emails stay in my inbox?

Accepted Answer

For 24 hours: every email is deleted automatically 24 hours after it arrives, and addresses expire after 10 days. Deleting an address removes everything right away. Switching to another address does not delete anything.

Question 7

Is a temporary inbox private?

Accepted Answer

Your inbox is locked with a secret key that only your browser holds — knowing the address alone is not enough to open it, and clearing your browser data loses access to it. Never use UseTemp for banking, money, or anything personal.
